Founded in 1983, Access Software developed and published a variety of PC games including the popular and award-winning Tex Murphy series of graphical adventure games, as well as the Links golf series. Access was acquired in 1999 by Microsoft and renamed "Indie Games" and "Indie Built". Take Two Interactive Software later acquired the company in 2003, before shutting it down in 2006.
