PowerShooter is described by its own author as being a "game is basically like any other shooter game". It plays like a take-off of the 1942/1943 games by Capcom, a vertically-scrolling shooter where you blast targets in the air as well as on the ground. It plays decently well, but the one-hit deaths which force you to restart the level are a bit of a turn-off. Maybe for shmup purists this won't be a problem. Graphically the game looks decent as well, but there is no sound at all. For a first game, it's pretty good. The same author is behind the later-released game Flying Tigers which seems like an updated & improved version of this early effort.
